hi

hi, it's 5am and I'm not tired, so I think I'll update.

I have been really good lately. I don't know what triggered this sudden trend of feeling good every day, but every day is awesome. I've been enjoying work lately, even when I work in the concession stand. I've just been having fun, it's almost like most of the people that I work with look up to me, and the ones who don't look up to me treat me with respect. Can't complain about that much, the money's not good but whatever...

Anyway, I've been listening to a lot of metal lately. It's kind of revitalized me, it's given me a new feeling of vitality, like I just wanna run around and spread the word of metal, and wear metal shirts and headbang and stuff. I also like to brag about how metal I am. I am so incredibly metal, it's just crazy. I love metal so much. I am metal.

So, I think I lost a lot of weight over the past five or six months. Like, maybe about 50 pounds. Give or take. No low-carb diets were done, just kind of watching what I eat, get some good exercise in two or three times a week, that's all I did. I used to think that maybe getting in shape would be a 24/7 dedication affair, but it's way easier than that. I'm sure that exercising every day would get you really fit really fast, but it also would probably get you pretty burnt out on the whole process and end up stopping the whole exercise thing altogether.

As a result of that though, I think I might be hot now. Like a hot sexy guy. I've had quite a few females come to me and comment on my weight loss and how good I look. THIS IS FLATTERING, people who know me know that flattering me isn't good because I take it too seriously and get really conceited. Like right now. But in some ways, I feel I have the right to be conceited... Some of you might remember that girl that I was crying over a few months ago. Welp, I saw her at work and kind of tried to avoid her because I'm not really interested in her anymore and didn't really want to talk to her. But she approached me and talked to me. It was kind of funny, I acted really distant and uninterested, and she wanted my phone number. Then she called me that night at like midnight and we talked for about two hours... she wanted me to call her back.

That was like four days ago. I never called her back.

And it feels kind of great.

okay

I came up with an idea tonight, I think it's a great idea and I think it's completely possible and can be totally awesome. It is an idea for a new game console, a somewhat portable game console. Probably about a portable as a Virtual Boy.

First of all, the sony PSP has showed us that large LCD screens aren't impossible on a portable console. They've managed to put a freaking huge screen on the PSP and it's not TOO expensive. So anyway, the screen of this console is worn on your head, like a virtual boy but definitely less bulky. The screen will be LCD, but not two separate screens but just a large widescreen maybe a little wider than PSP and a little less tall.

The controller would not be a controller at all but two gloves, kind of like NES power gloves. There would be no wires though, everything would connect to each other via bluetooth or some other wireless thingy. There would be pressure sensitive sensors in the gloves to sense when the hands are pressed together or when a certain part of the hand is touched, and motion sensors to detect movements of the hand through the air. Then pretty much, the controls in the game would all be executed by some hand gesture that would be explained in the game's instruction manual or tutorial or whatever.

To generalize it a lot, this could be considered a virtual boy with power glove controllers... but in modern games so much more is possible... Imagine first person shooters or action games that actually require you to aim with your hands rather than point with a mouse or try to aim with a controller. Or RPG's where you have the ability to cast different spells by doing different hand waves/gestures (like doing the hadoken pose with your hands or something). And in platform games, different control types are possible without requiring a joystick... like if you wanna go right, stick your thumb up and point it to the right, or vice versa for left. Rhythm based music games could get really complicated when requiring the movement of individual fingers.

The thing is, in modern technology this is possible, although it may be a little expensive, there's no reason it should exceed, say, $500. The best part would be the wireless capabilities, this would be completely awesome multiplayer... imagine like eight people in a room with goggles on their head pointing their hands in all different directions, it would look like an 80's new wave music video but it would still be awesome. I hope nintendo steals my idea or something, that would be awesome. If you guys do though please send me a free one because I don't want to pay for it.

revision 1: maybe instead of motions sensors, there could be some kind of positional locators in each glove that just detects the location of the other glove in correspondance with the other one and some game controls could be based on moving your hands around like that...

R.I.P. Max (the dog) 1996-2005

yep... post your max appreciation comments here because he's gone now. I'm pretty fucking sad right now.

He was my best friend for a long time... there were countless times when it seemed like nobody else was there but him. He was a dog but he was more important than most people to me... definitely didn't deserve the shit that happened to him. I don't believe in heaven or hell (or santa claus or the easter bunny for that matter) but I know that he's not in pain anymore.
