today was a pretty busy day for me... i got up at 7am and went to kung fu at 8am to practice for the Lion Dance, then at 9am we went to the TCC performing arts building to practice for our TCC Lion dance performance (for chinese new year). Then about 10:30am we went back to the kwoon (kung-fu school) and started practicing for our academy of self defense open house, which was happening at 1 o clock. so then at 1:00pm the open house starts, and the opening celebration was like a 30 minute lion dance with a really long string of fireworks. like 40 thousand fireworks or something (little black cat type fireworks nothing fancy). I was standing about six feet away from them, it hurt my ears and the smoke wasnt fun to breathe but it was cool. then we had to do a kung-fu demonstration after that. We got a break about 3:00 to 4:00pm and then at 4:30 we had to start practicing at the kwoon for the TCC lion dance.
We got to TCC at like 6:00 and did the lion dance performance, we ended up having to split it in half, and then the stage people at TCC made us skip the second half. we were all kind of disappointed but also kind of relieved. after that we went back to the kwoon and dropped off all the stuff, then our sifu (master) treated us all to dinner at new world buffet or something like that, it was like a buffet of chinese and japanese food, but it also had stuff like fried chicken and really shitty pizza and it was pretty good.
then I went home, yay
