video game bitching revolutions

Hey everybody, Starcraft 2. Click here.

Yeah, this is not a Blizzard game. This is made by some shitty little company called JOYFUN or some shit like that. When you start up the demo, it says something like "JOYFUN!" and then a little think bubble comes up that says "Imagination!"

More like lack of imagination.

This game is such a Starcraft ripoff, it makes me sick. It is called Atrox. It should be called "Starcraft the shitty version", because it's like a shitty version of Starcraft. They took basically everything from Starcraft, added some more stuff like bunkers that you can take off and float around, but managed to make it shitty. Even though the game looks exactly like Starcraft, and every fucking idea in it is stolen from Starcraft, they manage to make the game shitty and it lacks the "feel" of Starcraft. I really hope Blizzard fucks these guys in the asses, hard. Legal style. This game makes me sick.

video game bitching reloaded

Man, what the fuck is up with nintendo. They keep announcing these new games, and think they're doing us a huge fucking favor with LAN PLAY. Hey nintendo? Remember that peripheral you made that goes on the bottom of your fucking console? The one that only supports one game. Yeah, it's a fucking BRODBAND ADAPTER. IT CONNECTS TO THE INTERNET. FUCKING USE IT, THANKS.

my feet hurt

Today (well technically last night, since it's past midnight) was my first day of working at Starworld, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I still have to get one of those red shirts. My feet hurt a lot now though. It's not because of the standing around though, it's because I broke out the new shoes today, and they haven't even come close to being broken in yet. The bottom is still hard and stiff and not bendy like broken in chucks are. So yeah, my feet hurt.

The bank fixed my account supposedly, I talked to the chick on the phone after getting jerked off for an hour, and she said that something happened yesterday and she wasn't at the office. Whatever. I tried to act as nice as I could, but HEY, THEY LOST MY MONEY, EIGHTY TWO DOLLARS TO BE EXACT. I get impatient and annoyed when places that are supposed to safely handle my money (i.e. banks) lose my money and then leave me in the dark as to exactly when they're going to fix it.

That reminds me, I think I'm gonna check my balance online right now...

...

Alright, it says my balance is currently unavailable. This is a good thing, it's actually different.

I just downloaded the FF:Crystal Chronicles soundtrack, and it sounds pretty good. It actually sounds a little like the FF9 soundtrack so far, at least the choice of instruments they use. Not bad at all.

Lastly (if that's a word), Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution is the best fighting game ever. Better than Soul Calibur 2. With Link.

I'm glad these geniuses are handling my money

I went to bank of oklahoma today and straightened out the problem. They did deposit my check into the wrong account. I called about it and they told me to come in, so I did... they apologized a lot, and I said it was okay. Inside I was thinking, "dumb drive-thru bitch". I think they just put it in somebody else named "Joe Walker"'s account. I just don't like losing money, especially if it's 84 dollars.

Employed

Well, I'm a Starworld 20 employee now, I got my schedule today and I'm scheduled to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday... about 20 hours of work total, which isn't bad... I could actually take more hours than that. It's not like I have anything else to do. I have to get up early Sunday for work though, have to be in at 10am. I'm not used to those kind of hours.

I deposited 84 bucks into my new checking account yesterday, and I don't think they deposited it into the right account. I assumed this earlier today, but wrote it off as paranoia. Then, I checked out my deposit receipt, which I kept (go me) and it has nothing on it even resembling my account number. I'm going to go to Bank of Oklahoma tomorrow and see if the balance is correct, which should be somewhere between $140 and $150. My online banking says that my balance is $94, not counting today's transactions (I spent around 25 bucks today).

When I check my balance tomorrow, if they tell me that my balance is ~$70, I'm gonna get pissed. I've never had a bank account like this, so I don't know what to do if they fucked up my shit. Hopefully my receipt will help, but it doesn't have my acct. number on it or anything. I'm not going to sit quietly and lose $80 because some stupid bitch put my money in the wrong account though. I'm probably blowing it way out of proportion, but I've never handled anything like this before so I don't know what the fuck's going on.

I bought Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution today for $20, and it's really cool. I've only spent about an hour and a half on it so far, but I like the quest mode way more than the kumite mode in regular VF4. They pretty much executed everything better. Their training mode is way more newbie friendly, and way more in-depth. I haven't tried out the new characters yet, I was busy trying to keep up my winning streak with Lau to try other characters. I won 36 matches in a row, one after another after another, in quest mode. The quest mode is pretty cool, instead of just fighting guys and gaining ranks like in regular VF4, you actually have to pick an "arcade", and win enough games at that particular arcade to be able to enter a tournament. I basically played at the easiest arcade, but I though the opponents would gradually get harder. They did, but very slowly. I figured that I would stop playing when somebody beat me. 36 games later, I finished playing. Definitely worth more than $20, with all of the extras that the game has.

Fucking bank of oklahoma...

yaya

Welp, I'm gonna go to starworld tomorrow to talk about getting a job there. So I'll have a job. And money. I'll probably get scheduled a lot during the day since I have, well, nothing to do, ever. So I don't know, we'll see how that turns out.

this is me bitching about another game

I decided to go ahead and reinstall quake and check out all of the new Quakeworld clients... the two biggies were Tenebrae and FuhQuake, which both make Quake look extremely good considering the game is around seven years old now...

If I had a super beefy comp, I'd probably use Tenebrae, because it makes your quake look like Doom3, complete with ALOT of pixel shading and bump mapping and lightsources (with corresponding shadows). But, I was running at like 15 frames a sec when I tried playing Tenebrae on 1024x768, so I decided to go with FuhQuake, which doesn't have nearly as many pretty features as Tenebrae, but it still looks great and runs fine.

Anyway, I installed TeamFortress, and found a server to play on. It's basically the same game, except people have absolutely ruined it. I mean, it's not even worth playing anymore. You know why? Rocketjumping. It's no longer a skill that has to be learned and perfected anymore. Everybody has it set to a script now, and all they have to do is tap a button and *boom*, they're 30 feet away and you're still wondering "what the fuck?"

If you don't know what rocketjumping is, it's using the explosion of a rocket to propel you high up into the air, or really far forward. It used to require jumping up and aiming down a rocket and firing. Now all it requires is a rocketjumping script and a key bound to exec it. It was fine when you had to do it manually, but binding the whole process to a key is just fucking stupid. Capturing the flag now only requires having a RJ script, because you can just rocketjump away from everybody that might try to intercept you. I took on two guys at the same time, it was about a 60 second fight (which is a very, very, very long time for a gunfight by quake's standards), and one of them ended up rocketjumping away from me while the other one shot me in the back as I watched in awe.

People don't even have to try anymore. Thanks for ruining a perfectly good game, faggots. :(

I guess I'll have to play TFC (eww) or Quake3 TF if I want a decent Teamfortress game now, that is if faggots haven't overrun those games also with rocketjumping scripts. And their excuse is, "it's a part of the game."

Last time I checked, you didn't have to program scripts to activate parts of the game, maybe unless you're making your own mods. Right now, Quake1 TF is actually "FaggotMod".

Wute

w00t, I got my check card in the mail today. Actually, I got it yesterday but nobody checked the mail so it sat outside all night. I've been waiting for this for a while, now I can order stuff thru the net using my own account. Next paycheck I get is going into the checking account... all of it. That's basically gonna be my "preorder FFXI" money.

Yeah so, that's basically all I've been thinking about for the past few days. FFXI. It's not coming out for over two months, so I'm going to have to figure out some way to survive until then. It's too far away...

What I do before every online RPG that I'm planning on buying comes out, is plan out the character. And I've been thinking a lot about what I'm going to want to play once I get FFXI. I originally wanted a Ninja/BlackMage, but I've lately decided that I want something way more versatile, like a BlackMage/Whitemage, or a Summoner/WhiteMage. Or basically anything with WhiteMage on the end of it. I came to a realization that if I'm not part white mage, I won't be able to do cool stuff like heal people or bring people back to life. Black Magic is what I'm most interested in, and it would be cool to be able to do white magic on top of that, and be a really useful character.

I'll probably end up leveling up in everything though, as I have a lot of trouble deciding what I want to do in a game with so many possibilities.

You guys that are playing FFXI should post the kind of character you want to make in the comments.

Hmm...

I don't know why that last entry is posted twice, I even deleted the double post and it still shows two on my comp. Just ignore it.

Back and updating again

Well, I've been neglecting this blog for the past couple months. I don't really like updating when I'm lanning. What am I gonna say? "Today, I played lots of games. Because I'm at a LAN." It would get pretty repetitive, so I don't update much when I'm lanning.

First I think I'll update you on the situation. My family is going to move to St. Louis, but I don't have a definite answer as to when they're doing it, because we need to fix up the house to get it to the point where it's sellable for a good price, and then we need to actually sell the house. This could take much longer than originally expected, so it might be more than a month. Might be more than two months. It might even take six months to a year. We just really don't know.

I've already established to pretty much everybody that I am in fact NOT moving up to St. Louis with my family, I'm going to stay here in Tulsa and start living on my own, or maybe with other people. My good friend Will has already offered to let me stay at his place as long as it takes for me to get a steady income and get on my own two feet, but like I said in the last paragraph, I have no idea when this will be happening.

I've been playing FFXI at Strikenet with Nick and Pepe, and it's a lot of fun, but I seriously think that I'm not going to go to Strikenet anymore. First of all, it's insanely expensive for an LAN center in general. 5 dollars an hour on normal days might make 3 dollars an hour look like a great deal, but the fact is that there are many, many LAN centers that offer all day passes for 12 bucks. On top of that, I noticed that I'm spending far too much money on FFXI, and pretty soon I'll have spent more money just to play it than the game will cost when it comes out, and I would rather just save the money since I'll have unlimited access to it once it comes out.

It may seem like a crazy idea right now, since FFXI is so good, but in two months when the game comes out and I have enough money to buy it, I'll pat myself on the back for saving so much money that could have been wasted before the game came out. The money isn't exactly "wasted" since it's being spent on such a good game, but we're basically paying money to build up characters that will be deleted in two months anyway. The experience might be helpful when the game comes out, but I figure that I'll have more fun learning about the game when I can play it as much as I want, rather than having to wait until the next time I go to strikenet, worrying about not going over the amount of money that I have in my pocket.

From now on, I'm not going to strikenet anymore, but I want Nick to tell me how many hours he spent at strikenet every time he goes, so I can pretend that I spent the same amount of money as him, but instead put that money toward pre-ordering FFXI before it comes out. That way, once the game comes out, I won't have to worry about not having the money to buy it, or running out and buying it in late october, because it will already be preordered and on it's way to my house with the money I saved by not going to strikenet.

Yay!
