THE MAJORITY OF INDUSTRIAL BUILDINGS WILL BECOME NON FUNCTIONAL. PARTIAL TO COMPLETE WALL AND ROOF FAILURE IS EXPECTED. ALL WOOD FRAMED LOW RISING APARTMENT BUILDINGS WILL BE DESTROYED. CONCRETE BLOCK LOW RISE APARTMENTS WILL SUSTAIN MAJOR DAMAGE…INCLUDING SOME WALL AND ROOF FAILURE.
HIGH RISE OFFICE AND APARTMENT BUILDINGS WILL SWAY DANGEROUSLY…A FEW TO THE POINT OF TOTAL COLLAPSE. ALL WINDOWS WILL BLOW OUT.
AIRBORNE DEBRIS WILL BE WIDESPREAD…AND MAY INCLUDE HEAVY ITEMS SUCH AS HOUSEHOLD APPLIANCES AND EVEN LIGHT VEHICLES. SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES AND LIGHT TRUCKS WILL BE MOVED. yeah, pretty bad. the problem with New Orleans is that it is below sea level. My grandpa’s house will probably be hit. His house survived Camillle, so chances are it’ll survive this one too, especially since the main area to be hit will most likely be New Orleans, but where he lives in Mississippi will still get a good portion of the beating. Some people are wondering if New Orleans will be totally destroyed or not.
The other problem, this coming from my dad (who works for an oil company), is that 25% of the shipping and entrance of oil into this country is from that port of New Orleans. Prices of gas have already gone up because oil rigs are shutting down left and right as this thing is coming through, so less production. They are guess that a barrel of oil is going to go up to $70/barrel, which will probably make gas go up another $0.25, so, hope everyone as already bought gas for their car. Possible that a lot of oil refineries will get trashed as well. mother nature for the win….
