Ok, I whipped up a simple script so we can figure out for sure who is going with us to a-kon. Visit it here and be sure you tell all of your friends to sign up if they are rooming with us so we can get JP the money before we spend it all at a-kon. I am waiting on JP to confirm the room cost but I have temporarily put it in as 850 bucks, hopefully that is somewhat close.

cool, I’ll look up the price here in a minute or two.

well, since you aren’t logged into AIM, I can’t give you the info there, so…
The problem with giving you prices is, technically I don’t know, so you actually need to create variables in your calculations depending on how many people are signed up so far, as well as a bit of text explaining that fact (that these price are close +/- 20 bucks).
I’d set it up with either listing both sets of prices, 1) for 2 rooms 2) for 3 rooms, or have it setup that when more than 5 people are signed-up it jumps to the 2 room price, more than 10 people it jumps to the 3 room. Price per room for the 3 nights is –==$465.75==–, 2 rooms –==$931.50==–, and 3 rooms –==$1397.25==– that IS including tax, so that is the final number.
HOWEVER, you also have to think about parking, and we aren’t going to make the drivers pay alone. I figured I’d just pay for that, and that way it just adds in to the price, even if I don’t, it still needs to be included in the cast. So, maybe setup a variable so that the total price gets
({[total coming]/3}rounded to whole number)*(28)
This is figuring 3 people per car and parking at $14 per day. (which is comfortable, but maybe more, maybe less. Can’t know for sure until we know how many cars are coming, which is why I’m saying we can’t really know the price until pretty close to the day of. All these calculations are “best guesses” until the DAY OF, and are not final, b/c someone might suddenly not be able to come, or who knows.) Now, I called, and they quoted a price of $12, but I can’t seem to remember if they said per day or not. It seems a bit pricy, so hopefully that isn’t per day. If it is, and people really want to go cheaper, then we can find parking that is walking distance I suppose.
We will not get more than 3 rooms, we’ll just keep cramming people in and making the price go lower per person. If we have more than 12 people, we are definatly getting the 3rd room, which I’m about 99% sure we will, as of my last conservative counts of people.
