All About the Same Stuff
Hey guys, not really much new going on but I thought I would make a post anyway.
The cable for the HDTV came in, however it decided to kick my butt. Getting the settings right were very annoying and no matter how hard I tried I could not get the tv to work at 1920×1080. When I came home I found out about a dialog box that I did not fiddle with so maybe that will fix the problems. All of the resolutions looked halfway decent on the tv so if I can fix the scan problem (i am missing like 1/6 of the screen on the left and right side) then we will be in business. The only real reason I am bothering with this is I wanted to make a HTPC to play DiVX movies and record / playback HDTV. Most HDTV set top “vcrs” are like 600 bucks, that is way too expensive.
Today is payday — gonna send a lot of money to the ol credit card and newegg to pay stuff off. My student loans are almost paid off, only have a couple of months left on them and then my debt will be like 2/3 gone, that is really really exciting. I really hope that I can get most of this debt knocked out before I move out of the house in two months, part of me is scared that I am not going to make it since I only have like 4-5 paychecks left. The good thing is the only really big expenses I have left are….
Getting kitchen stuff out of layaway
Buying RAM for my Dad
New monitor
That’s it right? Someone speak up if I forgot something.
Hey — last thing, leave a comment for your vote - CRT vs LCD. The CRT I picked out is 250 bucks, LCD is 400. How should James spend his money?

LCD. With the amount of time we spend on the computer, LCD is better for our eyes. Also lighter for our backs when LAN time cometh.

I’m gonna have to stick with CRT. I’ll stick with CRT probably for a couple more years until I can barely tell the difference while gaming.
