it’s been awhile
Seems that everyone is in the spirit of updating blogs with school back in session, so i guess i will follow suit.
Everyone is gone out of the house (save Max) and the house is being cleaned piece by piece. Now when i say cleaned, i mean petty issues like painting the pantry and doing small spot work. This can be my mom’s work, as she is famous for being nit picky. Perhaps another horrible thing is she is attempting to enforce strange and horrible rules upon me. For example, this morning angie brought me breakfast and woke me up around 10:30 am. My mother arrived shortly thereafter and proceeded to throw a large fit because a “girl” was in “her” house. This was due to the fact that the neighbors may gossip about what angie and myself are doing inside. I responded with a “i don’t care what you, my grandmother, or any of the neighbors think because i am twenty years old and second of all it doesn’t even matter in the first place.”. Apparently that was like pouring gasoline on the fire to her as she proceeded to lecture me for about 30 minutes after that intelligent comment.
Summary –> time for me to find somewhere else to live.
In happier news I am continuing my trek through Suikoden III and I hope to have it finished prior to the release of final fantasy XI (should have no problem with over a month to go stilll). The game continues to improve the more i get into it, it’s actually causing some excitement…. i just wish i had more time to play.
I want to pick up a copy of vagrant story, i have heard good things and seen good reviews but i think i need to ask nick and joe first before i acquire it.
Oh… and yesterday (8/25/03) Sean Connery turned 73…. pretty nifty.
Look for more frequent updates in the future…

That really sucks that your mom is bitching at you about having a girl over. My mom would be happy if I had a girl over at my house. I think she thinks I’m gay or something.
Anyway, Vagrant Story is pretty cool, but I don’t really understand it fully yet. I’ve owned it for… well, I think over three years now, but I’ve only put about seven or eight hours into it, and I’m stuck at a point in the game where I absolutely cannot get past. For some reason, all of my attacks on EVERYTHING are for around 10hp or under, which is low even by that game’s standards. I don’t understand how I’m supposed to be able to do more damage. There’s a very very VERY extensive weapon/armor crafting system in the game that confuses the hell out of me, and it’s probably the reason why I’m only hitting for nickels and dimes whenever I attack.
The battle system is really cool though… it’s like a mix between the Parasite Eve games and Super Mario RPG and Summoner. Once you get within range of an enemy (the range requirements differ with the type of weapon you are wielding, i.e. crossbows have really long range, daggers have really short range), you press circle and choose the part of the enemy you want to attack (head, neck, body, left arm, right arm, right leg, left leg, etc.), and then once you attack, if you hit either square, triangle, or circle at the exact right time, you can chain another attack after that, and another, and another, and so on. If you keep hitting the buttons at the right time, you can keep chaining attacks one after another, but every time you chain an attack, your “RISK” meter goes up a point, and the higher it gets, the more likely you are to do less damage or miss completely.
Pretty cool game.
You can borrow mine if you want, for as long as you want… I need to give you back your Xenosaga and FFX anyway, so I can let you borrow Vagrant Story when I give those back to you.
